The Algarve is one of the top sun destinations from Ireland it is particularly loved by families. With over 150km of stunning coastline, dotted with some of the world’s most breathtaking beaches, this destination is a little bit of heaven. But the Algarve also offers a lot of advantages for families planning summer holidays and if you have never been, perhaps 2024 is the year you visit this Portuguese paradise. Here are 5 reasons why the Algarve is great for families.

1. Short Flight from Ireland

The Algarve’s popularity for the Irish holidaymaker is evident in the number of flights available seven days a week from the island of Ireland. Dublin has the most flight options naturally, but no matter where you are located on the island of Ireland, you can easily get to the Algarve with routes operating from Shannon Airport, Cork Airport, Knock Airport, Kerry Airport and Belfast Airport. The great thing about these flights to the Algarve from Ireland is that its warmer climate is closer than you think with a flight time of under three hours. Music to parents ears, especially if you have younger little ones to entertain on the flights.

2. Excellent accommodation choice and options

From five star resorts to value for money self catering apartments, the Algarve has a huge array of accommodation options to suit every budget and every family. Below we have listed some of our most popular accommodation options in the top Algarve towns to help you narrow down the best home away from home for your family on your holiday.

Albufeira Family Accommodation Recommendations:

 • Alfagar Village – A super family resort with slides onsite and lots of kid’s facilities.
 • Muthu Club Praia da Oura – This resort is right on the beach front. It is a large property with many kids’ facilities and a nice, lively atmosphere.
 • Grand Real Santa Eulalia Resort – This is a five-star resort made up of a hotel and also apartments with a seafront location.

Alvor Family Accommodation Recommendations:

 • Club Alvorferias – This is a great budget friendly accommodation option in Alvor that offers great kid’s facilities. This property also caters to larger families as well with their 2 and 3 bed apartments.
 • Vitor’s Plaza – This is another popular, well priced choice for families in the Algarve with modern décor throughout.

Praia do Vau Family Accommodation Recommendations:

 • Estrela do Vau – This is one of our most popular resorts in the entire Algarve and is a fantastic accommodation choice for families with great facilities and comfortable apartments.

Carvoeiro Family Accommodation Recommendations:

 • Rocha Brava Resort – This resort is popular with families for its multiple pools, gorgeous coastal views, large range of accommodation choice and its kids club and evening entertainment.
 • Colina Village – This resort has multiple pools and excellent kids facilities

Vilamoura Family Accommodation Recommendations:

 • Pinhal da Marina is a brilliant resort that is quite spread out with various pool areas and a lot of gardens and greenery around the resort.

3. Family friendly attractions

Entertaining your family while on holidays can be stressful if there isn’t much for children to enjoy. But if your family fancies a day away from the pools or the beach, the Algarve is one destination that truly has family fun at the heart of its attractions. If you have kiddies who seek big thrills, be sure to head to the Aquashow Waterpark, one of the most exciting waterparks you can visit for a day of fun! Located in Vilamoura, Aquashow Waterpark is made up of an outdoor waterpark which opens in May for the summer season and there is also an indoor waterpark onsite. Zoomarine is another fantastic attraction for families. Meet tropical animals, enjoy theatre shows and have buckets of fun on the park’s family friendly rides and slides. For something a little more relaxing, why not enjoy a boat trip along the coastline to discover some of the Algarve’s most impressive caves and rock formations. And if you have even more time on your holiday, why not go on check out the Lagos Zoo or go on a dolphin and whale watching cruise.

4. Stunning beaches

The Algarve is known for its incredible coastline, made up of dramatic cliffs, rock formations and perfect white sand, blue flag beaches, many of which have seen the Algarve awarded best beach destination many times. A huge majority of the beaches in the Algarve are very family friendly with calm, shallow waters and plenty of sandy shores to build sandcastles and play safely with your little ones.

5. Great value for money

If we haven’t quite convinced you yet that the Algarve is a fantastic family holiday destination, the combination of all that we have discussed combined with the fantastic value for money it offers families should do the trick! This destination is great value to fly to and holidays in the Algarve are very reasonably priced. But, when you are in the destination itself, the cost of food and drinks etc. is also really affordable compared to other destinations which is always a win when you have little ones to keep happy and full tummies to be kept!

Combine all of the above with gorgeous sunshine and warm temperatures and you are sure to have the holiday of a lifetime in the Algarve with your family. We have a special guest blogger this week on the Click&Go blog, Davy, a transition year student who was working with our team in the office this week on work experience. Davy has a huge passion for travel and has quite the bucket list of destinations that he would love to visit. In this blog post, he is taking you through his top 5 bucket list destinations and why he wants to visit each one.

If you have a teenager in your family, why not share Davy’s blog with them and see if they have similar lists! Let’s get to it, here are Davy’s top 5 bucket list destinations.

1. Malaga and the Costa Del Sol

One of the reasons why I would love to visit Malaga is because the weather will be about 20 degrees every day. They also have loads of beaches which will be really nice, and the sea will be a lot warmer than the sea here in Ireland! Another one of the main reasons why I would love to visit Malaga in the summer is to be there for the San Juan Festival which celebrates the arrival of summer. All of the beaches have bonfires and at midnight, everyone goes into the water to wash away bad energy. Another cool activity I would like to do if I visited Costa Del Sol is the kayak tour of Nerja, this tour brings you kayaking near the cliffs of Maro and you will also be given marine goggles to go swimming with the marine life in the beautiful sea. There is even a chance to go diving in caves where only the kayaks can enter. This sounds really good, and it would definitely be something I would do.

2. Orlando Florida

I have been to Orlando before, and I really enjoyed it so much! It was the best holiday I have been on. There are so many places to visit in Orlando, if I went back I would definitely go to the Typhoon Lagoon water park where there are these 6 foot waves in the surf which sound class and there is also loads of really fast waterslides, so Typhoon Lagoon would definitely be on my bucket list if I went back to Orlando. I would also really like to go to Universal Studios and visit some of the shops and enjoy all the theme park rides.

Orlando also has really good sport teams such as the Orlando Magic NBA team and Orlando City in the MLS, so if I went back I would try to go watch one of those teams play so I could see what the atmosphere is like at an American game. It would be a bit of a drive out of Orlando, but I would like to visit Miami and also Palm Beach as the beach looks unreal and the sea colour is really cool.

3. Athens, Greece

I would really like to visit Athens as I would like to see all the old architecture buildings and learn the history about the architecture such as the Pantheon and Roman Agora. I would also like to visit the Grand Temple of Olympian Zeus to learn more about why he is the ruler of all gods. They also have unreal beaches which are located along the southern and northeastern side of the Attica peninsula. I would also like to try their street food such as the gyros and baklava which are supposed to be class. The weather there is really nice so you could relax at a beach all day eating Greek food! I couldn’t think of anything better to do when you are on holidays.

4. Malta

Malta would definitely be at the top of my list to go on holidays as you can go on these day trips to the Blue Lagoon which is located in Comino which is one the three islands off Malta. The water there is like a clear, cool and turquoise colour which is really cool. There are also a few jumping spots, and you can also go snorkelling. This sounds like a really good day out and I would definitely go there. You can also go on a guided tour where the Game of Thrones was filmed in Malta, and they will tell you what episodes were filmed in Malta. You can also go Scuba diving, where they bring you to very deep caves and also to the sea where you can see old boats at the bottom of the sea. They also have Go-Karting in Malta which looks really good fun. The weather in Malta is always really nice and the beaches are lovely, so overall I would definitely visit Malta.

5. Split, Croatia

There are so many amazing activities I would like to do if I visited Split. You can go river rafting in the River Cetina where you go through these washing machine waves that make you go really fast in the raft and you can also go for a swim in the river or you can also jump off rocks as well, which sounds class. There is also this tower you can visit called the Bell Tower which was built between the 13th and 16th century, the tower is fifty-seven metres high and once you get to the top you can see the entire view of Split. If I was going to visit Split, I would definitely visit Krka National Park, the reason for this is because you can go swimming in this green clear water with a massive waterfall in front of you and you get a tour around the whole national park which is pretty cool as well. If I was going to go on a day trip, I would visit Brac Island as you can explore the island and go to the Zlatni Rat Beach which is supposed to be one of the nicest beaches in Croatia.

Davy has made us all want to jump on a plane and no doubt you feel the same after reading his fantastic blog post! If you would like more information on any of the above destinations, you can reach our five star Holiday Experts on 01-6995329, seven days a week.

A huge thank you to Davy for writing this guest blog post, we wish you all the best with your final years in school. 😊

When you begin the exciting task of planning your family’s next holiday, it can be a little daunting. With all the usual considerations such as where to go, how long to stay, what type of accommodation to choose and of course, where can you get the best value for money, all swaying your options, it is no wonder! But that’s where we are here to help! The first step to booking your next holiday is to decide what type of holiday you and your family will enjoy and we’re here to make the initial stages easy for you. In this blog post, we’re detailing 8 family holiday ideas to inspire your next holiday.

1. Sun Holidays

Sun holidays are adored by Irish holidaymakers and for good reason! They’re great value, we have a huge choice from Ireland and they’re all just a short flight away. Lanzarote and the Algarve are always incredibly popular with families as are the other Canary Islands, Majorca, Costa del Sol and Salou. If you’re looking for something a little different for your next family sun holiday, why not check out the Greek destinations of Rhodes and Halkidiki or perhaps Kusadasi in Turkey. For those wanting to explore and be culturally immersed on their sun holiday, Malta is another great option as is Sorrento in Italy.

2. Cruise Holidays

Cruise holidays have become a firm favourite for families because of the value they offer. When you book a cruise holiday, all of your meals and entertainment on board the ship is included in the cost of your holiday, allowing for less spending money when the time to travel comes. What makes cruising shine however is the huge focus that major cruise lines place on family entertainment. Most new ships are now built with families in mind and the facilities and amenities on onboard show the industries commitment to engaging families beyond just the kids club. Cruise lines know that the best family memories are made together and so a lot of new ships now feature everything from water slides and rock-climbing walls, to bumper cars and go karts. Even zip lining and surfing is possible on ships these days!

Cruise holidays also give your family the chance to be culturally immersed in a huge selection of destinations. Whether it be the historic cities of the Mediterranean, the picture perfect islands of the Caribbean or further afield. And, to add even more unique fun to your holiday, many cruise lines now own and operate their own private island experiences. You can read more about why cruise holidays are great for families here.

3. Camping Holidays

Camping holidays are all about convenience and family fun and when we talk camping, we are not talking tents! Camping resorts are fantastic and feature multiple pools, shops on-site, restaurants on-site and a huge selection of mobile home options to cater to various family sizes from small families, right up to very large families. Here at Click&Go, we offer campsite holidays throughout Spain and France, and we have handpicked a selection across these destinations that we believe are perfect for our customers. If you would love a great value holiday, with plenty of space in your accommodation as well as endless fun facilities for your little ones to enjoy on your doorstep, then a camping holiday may be for you! You can learn more about camping holidays here.

4. All-Inclusive Holidays

All-inclusive holidays provide great value for families, but they also take away a lot of pressures as well in terms of cooking and cleaning up while you are on your well deserved holiday. If you’re new to the idea of an all-inclusive getaway, they generally include all of your food, snacks and drinks in the cost of your holiday. Throughout all destinations, you will find a selection of accommodation options that offer an all-inclusive experience. As parents, we don’t get to relax often and having someone else take care of the cooking and cleaning is what makes all-inclusive holidays really appealing!

Another important point to note about this holiday type is that they don’t have to be expensive. In fact there are a lot of 3 star and 4 star all-inclusive options throughout all top destinations, as well plenty of five star options for those wanting a little more luxury. If you’re searching for an all-inclusive holiday on our website, you can filter your search results to include this holiday type which will help make the choosing process a little easier.

5. Disneyland Paris

Experience the magic of Disney through the eyes of your little ones on a holiday to Disneyland Paris. With spectacular parades, fireworks, character meet and greets and so much more, Disneyland Paris really is a wonderful family holiday destination. Its two theme parks, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park are also home to a huge array of rides varying from thrilling rollercoasters to more relaxed rides for the little ones.

The parks really bring the world of Disney to life and you will truly experience magic around every corner. When it comes to planning your trip, you can choose to stay in an official Disney Hotel or just a short shuttle drive away in one of our many hotels near Disney. The choice is endless, meaning we have something to suit every family. If you’d like to enjoy a day in Paris with your family during your trip, we can take care of this for you as well. Learn more about Disneyland Paris here.

6. Orlando Holidays

The theme park capital of the world sees thousands of Irish families flock to it every year and for good reason! Home to three major theme park groups, Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, there is fun to be had every day of your holiday in Orlando. Orlando also offers a huge array of family friendly fun outside of the parks with fantastic attractions located on International Drive and in the surrounding areas. Other popular must dos for families visiting Orlando include Kennedy Space Centre, LEGOLAND Florida and airboat rides through the local swamplands! If your family are seeking endless thrills and excitement, you can read more about Orlando here.

PS, for the ultimate Orlando holiday, we highly recommend adding on a cruise to the Bahamas or the Caribbean after your fun in the theme parks. Your feet and family will thank you for it!

7. Hotels with Waterparks

Did you know there are hotels that have waterparks as part of their amenities?! How exciting! If your little one’s love thrills on holidays, then choosing a hotel with a waterpark may be a great option for you. Some of our clients’ favourite hotels with onsite water parks include the 3* Club Mac in Alcudia Majorca, the 4* Playasol Aquapark & Spa in Costa de Almeria, the 4* Palmin Hotel in Turkey and the 3* Best Cap Salou in Salou. These hotels are all located in brilliant family friendly resorts and give you access to plenty of fun and thrills on your holiday.

8. Luxury Caribbean and Mexico Holidays

If you fancy something a little more luxurious for your next family holiday, then look no further than the Caribbean and Mexico! Holidays to Mexico and Caribbean islands such as the Dominican Republic can be extremely great value for money. Hotels in these destinations tend to be all inclusive and of a really high standard so you know you and your family will have the best time here. For families wishing to travel to this part of the world, we highly recommend Dreams Resorts. Dreams have spectacular hotels in both Mexico and the Dominican Republic as well as many other locations and they’re hugely focussed on families. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing amenities, stunning resorts and comfortable rooms, what’s not to love!

Getting to Mexico and the Caribbean does require connecting flights but the journey is easy and always worth it. For an even more special experience, why not add on a few days in New York City or Orlando before heading down to relax and chill in the glorious Caribbean weather.

The post 10 tips for travelling with young kids, from a mammy of two under two appeared first on Click&Go Holidays Travel Blog.

]]>
Hello everyone, my name is Kathleen and I work in the marketing team in Click&Go. I’m just back from my first ever family holiday with two little ones. We travelled to Lanzarote for ten nights in October and we had the best time. I was nervous about the trip as I had never travelled with kids before and I did not know where to start with the planning. We learnt a lot along the way and I wanted to share my experience and advice with you as I am sure there are others like my husband and I who are nervous about travelling with little ones for the first time. Here are my top 10 tips for travelling with young kids, from a mammy of two under two.

1. Book flights around nap and sleep times

My first top tip for parents with small children is to really think about the flight times you book and try and plan the journey to and from your holiday destination around nap or sleep times. For us, there was a brilliant selection of flights to choose from for Lanzarote and for the outbound we decided on a very early morning flight, around 7:30am. While this did mean a super early start from 4am, our little ones were tired for most of the journey, and this made the airport experience a little easier as they were happy to relax in the buggy. By the time we arrived in Lanzarote, they both had really good naps and had charmed all of the people around us!

Coming home, we booked an afternoon flight, which again aligned nicely with nap time, and they were happy to nod off after their lunch for part of the journey. The afternoon flight also meant we got home to our house just before bedtime. Ideal!

2. Book front row seats if possible

We flew Aer Lingus and decided we would pay extra to pre-book front row seats. This was probably one of the best decisions we made for our holiday. With a two-year-old and an 11-month-old, we needed all the space we could get! Our 11 month old, being under two was on our lap for the duration of the journey so we were delighted with the extra floor space the front row afforded us. They were also well entertained watching the cabin crew working.

3. Pack smartly, especially for the journey

The journey was what I feared most. I dreaded the tantrums and not having what we needed for such a long period of time from when we left our house to when we would arrive in our accommodation. Preparation was key for this and boy did it pay off! For the flight, we brought four bags as hand luggage and each of them served a very specific purpose.

 • Backpack one had the nappy bag essentials such as nappies, wipes, bibs, medication etc. As well as drinks for both kiddies and two porridge pots which we made up on arrival to the airport after we got through security. These were really handy to have and I had peace of mind knowing they both would have a full tummy boarding the flight.
 • Backpack two was the fun bag as we called it. It had a range of snacks and lots of new little toys they hadn’t seen before to entertain them on the flight. We also packed some books, colouring books and crayons in this one.
 • One of us (me!), was also responsible for the important items such as our passports, travel documents and bank cards so I kept all of this in a very small cross body handbag so that they were easily accessed as we needed them on our journey without having to root around a backpack.
 • Lastly, we brought a small cabin size suitcase on board which had spare clothes not only for the kids, but also us if we needed them. We also had our baby formula in here as well as some pouches of baby food just in case we were delayed and didn’t have access to food for the little ones.

4. Suction toys are fantastic entertainment

If you are travelling with small children toddler age and under, bringing a suction toy to stick to the window of the aircraft is a great way to entertainment your kiddies on the plane. You can purchase them on Amazon but they are also got in bath toy sets so we had a few of them at home that I just packed into our hand luggage and I was very glad I did! They were a hit!

5. Pack a multiple plug socket lead

If you are travelling with a couple of kids, chances are you will all have your own devices which will need to be charged each day. Instead of buying multiple adapters to use abroad, it is always a good idea to pack a multiple plug socket lead in your suitcase. Doing this will mean you only need one adapter to charge several devices at the same time.

6. Take help where its offered

Travelling with a double buggy, two under two, three suitcases and two backpacks was not easy and while it got a little easier with the two large suitcases checked in, we still struggled from time to time on our journey. It was important to take help when we were offered it. On our flight to Lanzarote, we had to enter the aircraft via steps as opposed to a tunnel and this was tricky for us as we had to leave our buggy at the bottom of the steps and try get two little ones up the steps along with a cabin suitcase and our backpacks. Thankfully a really nice man offered to carry our suitcase for us and this made such a difference. On this point, I recommend you use a sling or baby carrier perhaps in the airport, we didn’t and could have really done with one in this moment.

Then, when we arrived in our accommodation, our bungalow was a good bit away from the reception and a man who was on holidays overheard the receptionist giving us directions and he offered to help wheel a suitcase for us. We were so glad of the help and he knew exactly where he was going so after a long journey, we were really relieved and thankful for his kindness. Us Irish tend to be overpolite when someone offers help but my advice is take every bit you can get when you’re travelling with small children.

7. Book extra spacious accommodation if you can

We spent a lot of time thinking about where we were going to stay on our trip to Lanzarote before we went because there was a lot to consider for this trip. We needed to be on the flat, we needed wide footpaths that would accommodate a wide double buggy and we needed room within the apartment to let the kids roam around as we knew we would be spending a lot of time in there with nap schedules etc. We hit the jackpot with the Costa Sal Apartments in Matagorda Lanzarote where we stayed in a two bedroom bungalow. It was so spacious, and we had our own little garden outside with a private terrace and even some AstroTurf style grass. The kids had so much room and just adored the freedom and enjoyment that came from a bungalow. They settled in the very first day. We were also just around the corner from a gorgeous pool area and just steps from the beach. It was ideal for our young family.

8. Go with the flow

I am a routine girl, I like days to have routine and flow and I wasn’t sure what that would look like on a holiday with two under two. But what I learnt was, going with the flow of what made the transition of home to holidays easier for my little ones in that moment was best for me and best for us. Sometimes we couldn’t get out for dinner at night as we’d need an earlier bedtime and that was ok. Sometimes we had to offer a bribe of something nice from the shop we were in to stop a tantrum and that’s ok. Sometimes we had to turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at dinner and that’s ok too. Do what’s best for your family in that moment and all will fall into place.

In fairness to my little people, they adapted to being on holidays so easily and we had minimal tantrums of which we were blessed but I think going at their pace and trying to plan our days around them really helped this.

9. Make time for yourself every day

This was a tricky one for us with two under two but nevertheless, every day, we each took an hour or two to go and have some alone time. Having that time in the day to go for a swim or read a book in the glorious sunshine made the holiday also feel like our own as well because I will be honest and say it was hard to switch off and relax with two very small children. My daily alone time allowed me to have my moments of ‘aaah’ every day and I loved having that time to myself.

10. Nervous? Go somewhere you know well

When we booked Lanzarote as our first family holiday destination, so many people said we were crazy that we chose somewhere with a four hour flight for the first trip. But while this was a worry, we knew once we arrived we didn’t have to worry about anything else as we have both been to Lanzarote a lot. The familiarity was a godsend. We knew where the local supermarkets were, the best restaurants, great shopping etc. This peace of mind was exactly what we needed for our first family holiday and I am so glad that I went somewhere familiar for our first special holiday. It was perfect.

So there you have it, 10 tips for travelling with young kids from a mammy of two under two. While at times it was stressful and chaotic, it was also magical, entertaining, a dream and the perfect first family holiday. The good outweighed the hard by so much and if you are thinking of your first family holiday and you’re feeling a little nervous, my advice is just do it! It is worth every moment and the memories you make will last a life time.

Universal Orlando Resort is one of the most popular theme park resorts not only in Florida, but in the entire world. Made up of three epic parks, it offers the wow factor at every turn. In this blog post, we’re taking you through the highlights of each park and what you can expect to enjoy in each of them on your Orlando holiday. This is the ultimate Universal Orlando Resort guide.

From thrilling coasters, to sensational simulators and epic parades, prepare to be immersed in Universal Studios Florida, Island’s of Adventure and Volcano Bay.

Universal Studios Florida

Universal Studios Florida is all about experiencing your favourite movies and TV shows in real life. From a fire breathing dragon, to twisty coasters and plenty of superheroes, you never what way your day will go in this exciting park! Some of the most popular rides in this park include:

 • Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem
 • Revenge of the Mummy
 • The Simpson’s Ride
 • Transformers The Ride
 • Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon

The park is also home to the terrifying, world famous rollercoaster Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, that allows you to choose your own soundtrack to listen to as you twist and turn and scream! Alongside of these epic experiences, you can also enjoy fantastic shows in Universal Studios Florida, as well as character meet and greets and plenty of dining options in the park.

The main attraction of Universal Studios Florida, however is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Diagon Alley. Here you will find magic and spellbinding experiences around every corner. While there, be sure to check out Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, before you ride the Hogwarts Express to Hogsmeade, which is located in Islands of Adventure (a valid two park ticket is required to move between the two parks, but we can take care of this for you before you travel).

Islands of Adventure

Islands of Adventure is the second theme park in Universal Orlando Resort and it is just as thrilling as Universal Studios Florida. Here you will find Jurassic Park, Marvel superheroes and the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter which is based around Hogsmeade and the incredible, will take your breath away, Hogwarts Castle! Stand out rides in the WWOHP include Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, as well as the relatively new rollercoaster – Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. While these rides will blow you away, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is about so much more than just the rides. Choose your wand in Olivanders, sample some delicious Butter Beer, catch a spellbinding performance and so much more throughout this incredible land.

Right next door to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you will enter Jurassic Park. Expect chills and every hair on your body to stand up as you pass through the iconic gates of Jurassic Park to the theme tune music. It is AMAZING. Jurassic Park is also home to the brand new rollercoaster Velocicoaster which has become known as the scariest rollercoaster in Orlando! And, with four inversions, a one of a kind 360 degree barrel roll and two thrilling launches, we can see why!

In Islands of Adventure you can also meet your favourite Marvel Superhero’s and perhaps see how brave you are as you take on the iconic, Incredible Hulk Rollercoaster.

Volcano Bay

The third park that makes up Universal Orlando Resort is the resorts newest park, Volcano Bay. Volcano Bay is a water theme park and unlike any water park you’ve been to before. When designing the park, Universal carried out research on what people disliked most about water parks and ensured none of the mentioned bug bears featured in Volcano Bay. The result? A stunning oasis that feels like you’re on a tropical island somewhere far away, that also happens to feature some thrilling rides and slides!

Must do rides in Volcano Bay include:

 • Krakatau Aqua Coaster
 • Honu of the Honu Ika Moana
 • Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides

Volcano Bay also operates a virtual queue system, so you don’t have to waste time queuing for slides. Instead, you join the queue with your TapuTapu wristband (that you get on arrival to the park) and go and enjoy the beach, the lazy river or some delicious food and drinks while you wait for your turn. TapuTapu also offers visitors an interactive experience around the park by allowing you to engage with some of the parks features and statues to spray water, light up, etc.

Universal’s CityWalk

While it is not a theme park, Universal’s CityWalk needs to be mentioned in this post as it is truly important to your entire park experience. CityWalk is a thriving dining and entertainment destination located adjacent to both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. It is home to a huge array of restaurants, bars, shopping and so much more and you will no doubt find something to tickle everyone’s tastebuds during your holiday at its delicious venues!

How do park tickets work?

The Universal Orlando park ticket is called the 3 Park Explorer Ticket and it offers you access to all three of the parks and City Walk as much as you’d like for 14 consecutive days. It is incredible value, and we highly recommend you pre-purchase before you travel as purchasing your ticket at the gate of the park is very expensive. Even if you plan to visit the parks just a handful of times during your holiday, it is still cheaper to pre-purchase a 14 day ticket than to buy tickets locally.

Staying on-site at Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Orlando Resort is also home to eight incredible hotels to choose from for your holiday. With something for every budget, the choice is endless and the experiences incredible. Staying in a Universal hotel also gives you access to added perks to enjoy. Below is a list of Universal’s fantastic Orlando hotels:

Endless Summer – Surfside Inn and Suites

Endless Summer – Dockside Inn and Suites

Universal’s Aventura Hotel

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort

Loews Royal Pacific Resort
